2025 December
Meri Kirihimete
As 2025 comes to a close, we want to thank you for being part of our accessibility journey this year. For many of you we’ve seen accessibility move from an idea to something real and life-changing, for others it is fabulous to continue to work alongside you. Watching organisations embrace inclusive design and seeing the impact on people who rely on it every day is why we do this mahi.

Highlights from 2025
While 2025 hasn’t all been fabulous with broken bones, pneumonia, influenza and the economy, we have had a pretty fabulous year with overarching highlights including:
- Doing groundbreaking research with Air New Zealand, receiving 2900 responses to the survey and sending 12 disabled people on a trans-Tasman journey to explore accessible air travel
- Presenting at a Parliamentary Breakfast with Blind Low Vision NZ – a milestone for accessibility advocacy in Aotearoa
- Being part of forming the Enabling Technology Impact Collective alongside so many other wonderful people
- Working with partners like NZDEN and Jones Consultancy on some fabulous projects
- Working with incredible organisations to do reviews, usability testing, training, and strategy
- Sharing insights through blog posts on ARIA, plain language, Apple’s Liquid Glass, and many more
- Speaking and attending events like HINZ Digital Health Week, Digital Health AI Summit, and A11yCamp
Individual highlights include:
- Chandra – the Air New Zealand research and getting to play with data
- Ross – working with community organisations on document accessibility
- Katherine – working with people on our Access Panel when recruiting for research projects
- Kevin – Finding application role. That lightbulb moment when you realise you can sort the issue
- Julius – being a participant in the Air New Zealand research
- Heidi – ensuring accessibility is practical and achievable for clients
- Kirsten – meeting loads of wonderful people at the ATSNZ expo
Looking Ahead
Accessibility is a journey and we will continue our efforts to help our clients weave it into the fabric of all digital products. To help community groups take some first steps, we are thrilled to be running accessibility training for these groups with the help of InternetNZ. Reach out if you’d like to know more.
We will of course be out and about spreading accessibility knowledge and working with our wonderful clients. So, if you are planning new projects for 2026, we’d love to help. Whether it’s a review, research, usability testing, training, or strategic advice, we’re here to make your digital spaces welcoming for everyone.
