YOUR CHANCE TO SHAPE THE NZ WORKPLACE; OCT 2

We are pleased to announce the rescheduled date for The Neurodiversity Leadership Forum 2020. Hosted by Dyslexia Foundation of New Zealand, this will now take place in Wellington on Friday 2 October 2020.

This one-day event is the centrepiece of Dyslexia Action Week, and will shine a light on the opportunities associated with recognising the strengths of diverse brains in the workplace, and dispel myths associated with neurodiversity.

It’s time to unlock hidden talents and lift productivity in workplaces. It’s a win-win for employees and employers – and it comes from recognising and harnessing diverse thinking. In today’s fast changing business environment where disruption is the new normal, creativity is the new currency. Businesses are looking for the next competitive edge; this is it!

The Workplace Forum will bring together key stakeholders, leaders and specialists in neurodiversity training and advocacy, for a series of keynote talks, workshops, panel discussions, exhibits and video ‘tiny talks’.

Hear from highly influential experts, interact with leaders with lived experience, learn tips and tricks to streamline your workplace, and contribute to the development of a New Zealand resource for employers and employees to better navigate the work-place.

Neurodiverse individuals bring extraordinary potential for business breakthroughs to the workplace. For radical, revolutionary, pioneering, cutting edge and trailblazing advances, look to the neurodiverse.

From Leonardo de Vinci to Galileo Galilei, Alexander Graham Bell to Albert Einstein, Agatha Christie to Cher, Eleanor Roosevelt to Erin Brockovich, Walt Disney to Stephen Spielberg, and Whoopi Goldberg to Alyssa Milano, neurodiverse individuals have challenged the status quo, pushed the boundaries and changed the world over and over, in all spheres of human endeavour.

If we want to solve social, environmental, scientific, political and business issues we need to embrace diverse thinking.

Perhaps nobody said it better than Steve Jobs (Apple CEO and Chairman, American inventor, designer and entrepreneur) when he narrated the famous Apple Think Different commercial in 1997:

Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently.

-Steve Jobs, 1997

We’re beyond excited to host this Workplace Forum, following the outstanding success of the landmark Justice Forum we hosted in 2016. We look forward to seeing you there.
