Accessibility Statement
At Access Advisors, we don’t just talk about accessibility – we live it, breathe it, and yes… even love it. This statement is our way of sharing how we’ve built accessibility into our website (and how we’re always working to make it better).
Our Accessibility Goals
We want everyone to feel at home here. That means making our website as inclusive, usable, and people-friendly as possible. To do that, we follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2) – the international “rulebook” for digital accessibility. These guidelines have three levels: A (basic), AA (solid and inclusive), and AAA (the gold standard). We’re aiming for Level AA as our baseline.
We also take inspiration from the New Zealand Government Web Standards, plus the lived experience and know-how of our diverse team. Put simply: if something makes a website easier to navigate, read, or understand – we’re on it.
What We’re Doing
Here are a few things you’ll notice:
- Images – We add alt text so screen reader users don’t miss out. (If you spot one we’ve missed, give us a nudge!)
- Files – We’re digital-first, so we keep downloads to a minimum. If you need a file in a different format, just ask.
- Browsers & Devices – Our site works across all the big browsers and plays nicely on iOS and Android.
- Screen Sizes – Whether you’re on a phone, tablet, laptop, or giant desktop, we’ve tested the breakpoints so it all stays tidy.
How We Test
We use the same tools we use when reviewing our clients’ sites:
- Screen readers
- Magnifiers
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Colour contrast checkers
- Automated tests
- Manual tests using our pan-disability access goggles
Right now, our site almost hits full WCAG 2.2 AA. We know there are a couple of things to polish, and we’re working on it.
Your Feedback
Accessibility isn’t a one-and-done thing, it’s a journey. If you run into a problem, spot something odd, or just have an idea for making the site better, we’d love to hear from you. Drop us a line, and we’ll let you know what we’ve done with your feedback.
Final Word
Go ahead – click around, explore, and (hopefully) enjoy the ride. We’ve worked hard to make the site welcoming and user-friendly for everyone.
