Research Panel
We work with people with access needs to help our clients understand the real cost of digital exclusion. People from our Research Panel can help clients by participating in research activities and demo days. We believe that people with access needs deserve to be included in the design process.
Position: Accessibility Research Participant
Location: All of New Zealand
Employment Status: Self-employed (please note: NOT fulltime or guaranteed work)
Rates of Pay: You receive $50 for every hour of research, and we will cover travel expenses up to $50 per session.
Position Details
As a leading New Zealand owned and operated digital accessibility consultancy Access Advisors’ goal is to help make New Zealand a more digitally inclusive place. To do that we need people with access needs to help demonstrate the problems faced with poorly designed websites and apps. You might use a screen reader, or be on the autistic spectrum, or struggle to use a mouse because of joint pain, or have a combination of age-related issues. But if you’ve ever had problems with websites or apps then we would love to hear from you.
We believe that if our clients can see the problems people have first-hand they are more likely to understand and make changes. We also believe that it is important to include people with access needs in the design process. It is important to us to include lived experience whenever possible and give people a voice. We need your help to do that by being involved in interviews, answering questions we have about how you use your technology, or demonstrating the problems you have on video.
Work will be part-time and intermittent, doing research and testing of digital products as our customers ask for these services. This is NOT fulltime or guaranteed work. But, if your details match with the requirements of our customers, you will be getting paid to help make the digital world a more accessible place.
Research sessions will be facilitated by trained and police checked researchers and will take place either in your own home, at the customer’s business or in our research facilities, depending on the customer’s needs. We are interested in hearing from both people who can work only from home and those who are willing to travel to research facilities or customer sites for sessions. Sessions would typically be on weekdays between 9 am and 6 pm. A session may take between one and four hours. The types of research can range from an online survey to doing tasks on a website.
Before confirming your participation in any sessions we will discuss the date, start time, location, duration and nature of the research session with you. There is no obligation for you to participate in any specific session.

Your personal information will NEVER be shared with any third parties. Data from your sessions will always be anonymised before being shared with our customers as part of any report.
