Accessibility Statement

At Access Advisors we live, breathe and love accessibility. We’d like to share with you how we endeavour to make our website accessible in this statement.

Our website has been designed to facilitate an accessible customer experience. We believe that to be accessible our website must be inclusive and open to those we are trying to assist.

Our accessibility goals

Our aim is to ensure that our website is as accessible as possible. Our website and its content are developed with accessibility best practice in mind.

We use the industry standard Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1), developed by W3C Web Accessibility Initiative. The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA) and we aim to achieve Level AA as our baseline.

We are also mindful of the New Zealand Government Web Standards We also draw upon the shared knowledge of our diverse team and apply best practice.

We believe this makes our website more logical, simpler to read, better to understand and hopefully easier to help you find what you are looking for.

Our efforts

We have worked hard to make the website functional, engaging and responsive for you. Here are some of the things we’ve done to help.

Images

We endeavour to use alt text on all our images. If one has slipped through the net, then please let us know. Alt text is useful if your browser does not support images, or image functionality has been switched off.

Files

We take a digital first approach with all of our content, so try to avoid including any files. If you need our content in a different format then please contact us.

Our processes

We regularly check the site to maintain access. Also, as a pan-disability, digital accessibility consultancy all of our staff have high standards of knowledge and awareness. We are all working towards our IAAP certification.

Browser & Operating Systems

You can view our website on multiple devices, and we have tested it on all major browsers and iOS and Android mobile operating systems.

Screen resolution

We have tested the following breakpoints:

  •  320 – 480 px for mobile screens
  •  481 – 768 px for tablets and iPads
  • 769 – 1024 px for small screens and laptops
  • 1025 – 1200 px for large screens.

Current Status

We use the same tools we use to do reviews of our client’s websites. Tools include

  • Screen readers
  • Screen magnifiers
  • Keyboard only checks
  • Colour contrast checks
  • and a variety of automated and manual checks.

Currently, the site almost meets our target of level AA of WCAG 2.1. We know there are a couple of issues to resolve. We hope to address that issue soon.

Give us your feedback

We work hard to try to maintain our goal of Level AA accessibility. But if by any chance you do find any problems, find your time at our website troublesome, you discover an error, have issues with our content or just have a suggestion on how we could do things better then please contact us so we can fix things. We would love to hear from you and will be in touch to let you know what has happened with your feedback.

Enjoy

Enjoy your visit and we hope you find the site user friendly.
